This album serves as a distillation of my experiences living and playing music in Melbourne, Australia. Marking my fourth year in this city, I have found a group of like-minded peers to play with. Together we have developed these compositions into seven distinct narratives. The inspiration for the title track and album name is derived from a guitar I purchased whilst traveling in Japan, branded
“K I N G S N A K E”.
I wrote the majority of the album with the guitar, and used it exclusively for the recording. The instrument is unlacquered, thereby allowing the banded woodgrain to remain exposed. I would like to think the character of this instrument and its vulnerability is reflected in our approach to this music. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

The great musical connection of Kristin and Sam is outstanding and evident in the music.
